My name is Asegedech T/Michael. I am 75-year-old resident of Addis Ababa’s Yeka Sub-city. Ten years ago, I found myself struggling with hypertension, a condition that prevented me from working it severely affected my health. To make matters worse, a lack of awareness and health education prevented me from properly taking my medication, leaving me in constant discomfort.
It was during this challenging time that a compassionate community caregiver connected me with Hospice Ethiopia. Since then, my life has taken a remarkable turn. The support I have received from this organization has been truly life changing. Hospice Ethiopia has provided me with important health follow-ups and education. Through their guidance, I have learned how to take my medication correctly, ensuring that I manage my illness effectively and alleviate my pain. Their expertise and care have been instrumental in improving my overall well-being.
In addition to health support, Hospice Ethiopia has also extended a helping hand in other crucial areas of my life. Their provision of food support has alleviated my concerns about having enough to eat. I am now able to nourish my body properly, which has significantly improved my physical health and peace of mind. Moreover, the day care service offered by Hospice Ethiopia has become a support for me. It is within this caring community that I have found psychological and social comfort. The opportunity to communicate with friends and share my struggles has lifted me out of despair.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the support I have been receiving as their generosity has brought immense positive change into my life, and I am forever grateful.
