My name is Mulu Reta. I am a 65-year-old. I live in Yeka Sub-city of Addis Ababa. Fifteen years ago, I received the life-altering news that I was HIV/AIDS positive. This diagnosis brought intense physical and emotional challenges into my life. I experienced intense pain in my legs, suffered from sleepless nights, and found myself unable to work or care for myself. I became bedridden for several months, and my daily activities were severely impacted by the effects of my condition. The harsh reality was that due to my illness, I faced a low socioeconomic status as I was unable to work and support myself. However, amidst these difficulties, a glimmer of hope entered my life. Through the support of a compassionate community caregiver, I was introduced to Hospice Ethiopia. From that moment, my life began to change in ways I could have never imagined. During this difficult period, a community caregiver introduced me to Hospice Ethiopia. This connection became an encouragement in my life. Mos importantly, I have received physical and psychological support from the compassionate team at Hospice Ethiopia. Their care and guidance have been instrumental in helping me navigate the challenges of living with HIV. Moreover, they have provided me with pain relief medication, alleviating the physical suffering that once overwhelmed me. In addition, Hospice Ethiopia has been a pillar of support when it comes to meeting my basic needs. They have provided me with food support, ensuring that I no longer have to worry about going hungry. This provision of food has transformed my life, allowing me to nourish my body properly and focus on my overall well-being. Moreover, Hospice Ethiopia has extended financial assistance to me, alleviating the burden of financial stress. Before I joined Hospice Ethiopia, I resorted to begging at the church, struggling to make sustain my life. But now, thanks to the generosity of Hospice and people supporting them, I receive cash support that has truly changed my life. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Hospice Ethiopian and the donors. Your generosity has made a profound impact, and I am forever grateful for the support I have received.
